For some reason I cannot write on the Discussion page "Yernish".

I thank you very much for your answers, all the more as they are quite complete.

Hello PUNKAHARJU44, unfortunately, due to excessive vandalism, it was necessary to lock down many pages on this wiki yesterday. In the majority of cases these locks will be lifted over the next few hours (incidentally, the lock down of the discussion page "Yernish" was lifted at 19:00 UTC. Buill ayns ny Steatyn UnnaneysitEdit

I apologize for using the incorrect articles (y vs. yn) but I was only using the title of the article itself, which, in the case of Russia is Yn Roosh. I have no grammar book for Manx. I'm learning it as I go. In reference to the second part of your message, I don't have the slightest idea as to what your referring to. I've been creating articles for a large number of languages for a few years now, in particular, ones for Cymraeg, Brezhoneg, Gaeilge and Gàidhlig. No one has pointed out to me similar errors. You aren't providing me with an example. I provided a number of articles for the Faroese towns in Gaelg a while back and no one approached me about incorrect category links. Thirdly, I don't have the slightest idea how to create maps, which is why I leave them showing an error. I noticed the one for Oklahoma City was left as it is showing an error. You haven't provided me with any assistance with how to create the maps.

If you would rather that I don't help out I'd be more than happy to comply. I've got things I can work on. I was just trying to bring some unity to having basic articles for all the Gaelic languages. They're fascinating languages with grammar rules I've never encountered before. With the exception of a number or individuals who have learned them, languages like Kernowek and Gaelg are dead. I'm just trying to help the effort to revive them.Jhendin (talk) 22:33, 2 Mart 2013 (UTC)
I have absolutely no idea why you are taking such a dramatic negative attitude with me? I never attacked you. Indeed I welcomed you and thanked you for contributing. I finished up by wishing you, and I quote, "happy editing". I simply pointed out a few things which would help with the project. I'm not expecting you to create maps, and never mentioned them to you. With respect to the categories, you are simply clicking on the red link in the article you have just created and typing in a title. Compare this revision. Your version (incorrect) is the version on the left, with my clean up and amendments shown on the right.
Regarding your statement "I provided a number of articles for the Faroese towns in Gaelg a while back and no one approached me about incorrect category links" - that was 3 years ago. The project has expanded significantly since then, and at the rate you are producing articles it will leave me no time to create my own articles, and instead I will have to concentrate on cleaning up and fixing yours.
Regarding Manx being dead - tell that to the c. 100 native speakers, over 500 fluent speakers and over 2,000 who have some knowledge of Manx. It has radio and television programmes, weekly internet news bulletins, an active community of speakers, etc. That to me is not dead. Etruscan is dead. Noric is dead. Pictish is dead. Manx is not dead. Mac Tíre Cowag 23:19, 2 Mart 2013 (UTC)
If I've come across as being a little testy, you'll have to understand. In the past I have received some of the most unprofessional, immature messages from people. For example, someone from the Maltese Wikipedia told me I had no busy working in a language I have no knowledge in. Verbatim. I've encountered several of these. There was no indication on this person's user page they were an admin. I've read no rules anywhere on Wikipedia stating you have to have sound knowledge of a language before you can work with its particular Wiki. I thought that's what the Embassies were for. One guy from another Wikipedia started contacting me outside of Wikipedia, by email. Another started redecorating my user page. It's almost leaving me to believe I'm being intentionally provoked. It's getting old.
With respect to the example you gave me, I didn't create them. I just paste and copied them from previous articles. I took it for granted you may have. The only change I made was to the name of the state. If they were incorrect, they were so before I got to them, so the correction should have been made before I returned to the Gaelg Wikipedia. One other individual referred to them as "parent links", so there is different terminology out there. There is little Manx I can come up on my own, and I am/was learning it as I go/went along.
If my efforts are interfering, do you feel it would be best if I didn't help out? Otherwise, for what other reason would you have mentioned that? Wasn't that a "dramatically negative attitude?"Jhendin (talk) 01:47, 3 Mart 2013 (UTC)
The beauty of a wiki is that you can see everyone's contributions to a particular page or category. You said you didn't create the categories that I am talking about - This link shows the contrary. It shows that you created a category in which the only content was the phrase, in bold font, "Baljyn coontae ayns Oklahoma" as can be seen here. That type of category is completely pointless as it is left outside of the category tree (which is what the categories are for). Compare the category you created (previous link) with my amended category here. The category is now nestled into the category tree and can now be found from other categories. If you are not confident in handling category creation, then simply leave them for someone else to create, but, please, feel free to continue creating articles.
I do not feel that you're efforts are interfering, and I welcome your contributions to this project. You're last point states "what other reason would you have mentioned that". Mentioned what? Correcting your grammar? Pointing out how to correctly create categories? Telling you you can ask me any question or look for my help or advice? If you are doing something incorrectly then you need to be informed about it. It's not a criticism, and it should not be seen as an attack (which you seem to have assumed here straight from the get go).
Regarding admins - they have no standing above any other editor. The only difference is that they have been entrusted by the community in performing certain tasks not permitted by just any member. Regarding the abuse you seem to have received from other editors.. that is tantamount to harassment and should be reported to the relevant authorities. That kind of abuse is not acceptable outside Wikipedia, and it's not acceptable inside Wikipedia either. Mac Tíre Cowag 18:32, 3 Mart 2013 (UTC)

Mona DouglasEdit

I see that you behind the Mona Douglas article. As a non-Manx-speaker I'm very sorry to not be able to read it, especially as it means that I've been unable to mine it for the page I've created for Mona Douglas on the English-language Wikipedia. Since I have no doubt that your Manx version is much better researched, written and referenced than my version, I thought that you might like to help improve what I've done there. (You might also be interested to put into the Manx version the links to some of her books online that I've sourced). (Jamesfranklingresham) 23:35, 2 Mart 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Could you please translate this into Manx? It is to give information in Ido Wikipedia.

Welcome to the Ido Wikipedia. Ido was first known as reformed Esperanto and was created in 1907 after seven years of deliberation by a committee of professors and linguists. You may notice that Ido looks somewhat like Esperanto, but with a number of differences including a complete lack of diacritical marks, the use of the letter 'q', along with many of the words themselves. If you are studying Ido and want to write for our Wikipedia, feel free! There are people here to correct your Ido should you make a mistake. Just use the {{revizo}} tag whenever you think your article could use some grammatical revision. The main site for the Ido language is located here, Ido publications are located here, and the English Wikipedia article on Ido is located here. A complete list of sites in Ido on the internet is located here. Lastly, the main reasons for choosing Ido over the more well-known Esperanto are summed up in this article.

Thanks for your help. --Chabi1 (talk) 12:26, 28 Mart 2013 (UTC)

And what did say Shimmin Beg, something that we should make info for Manx speaking in Slovak wikipedia? Because on Slovak there is no info for other languages. And what does mean this: Laaghyn: IOM FIN POL CZE SVK AUT DEU CYM SCO on your editor page? Regards, Mikulas1 (talk) 19:38, 18 Averil 2013 (UTC)[]
He said that both himself and another editor had already completed translations for another language as well, as there were a number of requests pending. As for Laagh:.... That's just speaking about my travels. Laaghyn is the Manx word for days, i.e. I have spent days in those countries (there are clickable links so just follow through on each of them to find out which countries if you are unsure of the flags or the 3-digit country code). Hope that helps. Mac Tíre Cowag 21:19, 18 Averil 2013 (UTC)[]
Thanks. Of course, that I knew the flags, but Manx-English dictionaries did not searched me meaning of that word, so I did not know if you speak about languages and your level of them, or something else as it turned out to be. Mikulas1 (talk) 09:32, 19 Averil 2013 (UTC)[]

Lady and the TrampEdit

Could you make Lady and the Tramp look as good as The Rescuers does? I wrote what I could, but I feel like it could have a little more. Also why isn't there a template for mojo title? 2602:301:7719:A3A0:79D0:23BC:606C:7752 19:54, 12 Jerrey Fouyir 2014 (UTC)[]

It may take me a few days to get around to it as I haven't been very active in a while and there are some issues and housekeeping that need addressing first, but I will get around to it. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by mojo title? --Mac Tíre Cowag 19:58, 12 Jerrey Fouyir 2014 (UTC)[]
I mean en:Template:Mojo title. Also, I noticed other articles on the short side: The Lion King, Liv and Maddie, The Aristocats, The Princess and the Frog, and Dumbo. Not that they have to be expanded immediately (I can wait a year or two), but it's kinda strange that some articles (like The Rescuers) look better than others. If you can only do one at a time, I think you could start with whichever is the most interesting or even the easiest to translate (or both). 2602:301:7719:A3A0:79D0:23BC:606C:7752 20:11, 12 Jerrey Fouyir 2014 (UTC)[]
To be honest, I never heard of Mojo before. The reason some articles appear short and others more developed is that sometimes people create an article that is short, but linguistically correct. I just make sure that the language, grammar and content are accurate and tend to leave it (films are not my forté). If, however, the article is littered with mistakes, bad grammar, or just entirely biased, I tend to do a slightly more in-depth article (it is one method of discouraging vandalism on top of everything else, as the original editor doesn't generally tend to understand the language). I will get around to them, though. Regards, 13:24, 14 Jerrey Fouyir 2014 (UTC)[]

Translation of only one sentence and a few headings! Many thanks. Please advise you don't want the lists! Many thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 07:09, 13 Mayrnt 2016 (UTC)[]

Hi Lywelyn. The page you are requesting (List of Manx people) already exists and can be found at Rolley Manninee. Regards, Mac Tíre Cowag 15:34, 14 Mayrnt 2016 (UTC)[]
Thanks MacTire02. Could you move it to my userspace please? It may be useful for you to see what data is held on Wikidata. Secondly, shall I create a list of Welsh people? 9 languages have it. Here's the Basque list. Thanks. Let me know if I can help with anything. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 11:35, 15 Mayrnt 2016 (UTC)[]
No problem. That list has been moved to your userspace at Ymmydeyr:Llywelyn2000/List of Manx people. Feel free to create a list of Welsh people. Kind regards, Mac Tíre Cowag 13:15, 19 Mayrnt 2016 (UTC)[]
Many thanks Mac! Please can you translate the bits between the xxx into Manx? Once done I'll start the Welsh people page. By the way, shouldn't the new list of people born in Manaw be on the Rolley Manninee page - ie only one list is needed? i could place it after the existing text, if you like as on the Welsh page? Thanks - Llywelyn2000 (talk) 11:01, 19 Averil 2016 (UTC)[]

en-5, fr-N, gv-0. Urhixidur (talk) 18:23, 6 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
Apologies. I'll translate. oonoonsepchum is the word in the dictionaries. I know that it was recently changed to tennessine in English and named after the US state of Tennessee. However, there is no evidence, source or example in Manx under the new name. According to the Manx dictionaries, Tennessee, as in English, is the name of the state, and not Çhennessee... What do you think? Translate the name according to a phonetic Manx system, or translate it according to English and according to the Manx usage of Tennessee? Simply put, the choice is çhennesseen or tennesseen. Mac Tíre Cowag 18:27, 6 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
Çhennesseen looks more natural to me, if you take into account the series fluoreen, cloreen, bromeen, eeadeen, astatçheen. So it's plausible? Urhixidur (talk) 01:57, 8 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
It is plausible. The question, however, is not the ending in -een, but the initial part of the word - çh- or t-. Manx pronounces the initial <t> in "Tennessee" as /t/ and not /tʃ/. I would assume that this should follow the same pattern and yield /ˌtɛnəˈsiːn/, thereby requiring a spelling of tennesseen rather than çhennesseen. Mac Tíre Cowag 20:01, 16 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
Okay, but how come çhitaanium (Ti), çheghnaiçhum (Tc), çhellurium (Te), and çherbium (Tb) get to change what is definitely not an initial /tʃ/ into one? Urhixidur (talk) 16:58, 30 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
Because çhitaanium, çheghnaiçhum, çhellurium and çherbium are already in the dictionary. We try to avoid coining new words as much as possible here as that verges on Original Research, which is a big no-no in Wikipedia. We do, however, have examples of -ine becoming -een and Tennessee is already established in Manx as the name of the state. It is a simple step to amend the ending in line with other endings. To change the initial consonant is to change the word's phonology, and that is too far towards OR in my mind and is not based on the established root as used in Manx. Mac Tíre Cowag 19:38, 30 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]

The Lion King (2019)Edit

Could there be more information on this article? Also, shouldn't the title be The Lion King (scannane 2019)? It is a photorealistic animated remake of Disney's traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name. The plot follows Simba, a young lion who must embrace his role as the rightful king of his native land following the murder of his father, Mufasa, at the hands of his uncle, Scar. Also, the original is short as well, could you expand it as well? 2602:306:83A9:3D00:F55F:C60C:25F8:A439 23:11, 28 Jerrey Souree 2019 (UTC)[]
