Shoh my hoiggalys ayns Baarle:
In the construction X of Y then lenition occurs in the following cases:
  • When Y is a definite noun, e.g. Sostyn, Doolish, Mannin a.r.e. In this case if there is a qualifier X then Y must be lenited. E.g. Reeriaght Hostyn, Colleish Ghoolish, Ellan Vannin.
  • When the construction is not definite but X is a feminine qualifier, e.g. scoill cheirdee (there can be exceptions where the feminine qualifier has a broad ending, but not all)
Ansherbee, cha nel mee agh 80% shickyr fo ny reillyn shen. Ta mee credjal dy vel Ollooscoill Ghurham ny share er y fa dy vel ollooscoill ny fockle bwoirrinagh as dy vel Durham ny 'ockle kinjagh. --MacTire02 12:12, 17 Mee ny Nollick 2008 (UTC)Reply
